"And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply..." (Genesis 1:22) Multiply, what a great word when connected to what is good and excellent. It strikes a chord of longing in every man. To the guys who feel broken by the bitter waves of failure, it awakens feelings of hopelessness. You may very well know someone who has become offended with the idea of success and prosperity. The first command, or "life instruction", God ever gave man was to "be fruitful and multiply". It is the essential output of your design. See how it resonates even when you speak it out loud to yourself; "the output of my design is to be fruitful and multiply". Your excellent purpose has already been masterfully determined by your maker ... God. Jesus said it this way, "My Father is glorified when you bear much fruit, and you prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine." (John 15:8) My grandfather said it this way, "the proof is in the pudding". God is the multiplier and we are called to multiply. I've learned from personal experience that what I have multiplies when I make some intentional decision to put things obediently into His hands. I remember helping a neighbor move when I was a boy and then eight months later I got one of the highest paying jobs of any student in my high school. I've helped people who needed a hand only to have God multiply that help and do for me, what I could never do for myself in a hundred years. 2 Corinthians 9:10 says this, "And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]." You and I cannot multiply on our own. We need to discover the good ground, the right investment opportunities that God would lead us to so we can "bear much fruit!" When Jesus told the parable of the seed and sower, you'll notice that the only variable is the ground. (Luke 8:5-8) Poverty is not the lack of money or provision, but proof of misplaced money and provision. When you look at the fields of your life today, do you see the hand of the Multiplier? Remember, God can only multiply for you what leaves your hand and goes intentionally into good ground. Sacrifice doesn't impress God. He's looking for obedience. It takes great courage to live a life of giving in this age of fear. It's not for weak men and yet, the weak are made strong when the Multiplier is given access to their life. We need men of valor to stand with us and reach out to others. Your prayers (based on God's Word), your help, wisdom and giving are all precious, as in gold and silver from Heaven. What's insignificant to the world is of great significance to God for He teaches us to be mindful of the smallest seed. Thank you for your support. The Father knows His sons, men of great valor. God's Word to you is, "Blessing I certainly will bless you and multiplying I will multiply you." (Hebrews 6:14) "God gives you power to get wealth." (Deuteronomy 8:18) "Whatever you do will prosper." (Psalm 1:3) Business executives, factory workers, and men from all walks of life are realizing they need more than a job title or a last name to reply to question of purpose. These guys are connecting with the absolute identity of being a son in Christ.
Guys inherit the demand of needing to be someone and quickly turn to performance as the answer, but without the foundation of true identity, they're doomed to failure. In finding who you are it's very important to realize who you're not. A false sense of identity can deceive us into aborting the drive to pursue truth. Apple trees never try to pop out a banana and eagles never try for a job laying chicken eggs. Confusion is the whirlwind driving a person that is distracted from the true focus of their originality. You were made on purpose for a purpose and faking your way through life won't change that. Sure you can pursue the "off-road" path of spiritual independence but the way will be hard, very hard. The I AM A SON event is a life-tool God is using to in one moment reveal Truth and transform a man's life forever. Suddenly the mystery of spiritual DNA transfer begins the foundation of what is totally impossible to the world. The reality of God's goodness and character becomes inherent to the man living in Christ. He's a new creature! Can you see these men in our homes, our communities and our churches? They stand out as a light in the world. Watch a man at the end of his life here on earth. If his wisdom only included a ten or twenty year plan, the regret that oozes from his departing soul is tragic. But the one who had a vision of the next 100 and 200 years, is a picture of a son saying, "I've run the race, I've finished the course and now I'm ready to hear my Father say, "well done!" Determine today to finish strong. "In Him we live and move and have our being! We are His sons." (Acts 17:28)
